VLS Website Case Status Key
1. Under Investigation
This status refers to a case which has been received by VLS and is currently being investigated. These cases remain anonymous until the conclusion of the investigation phase.
2. Product Compliant During Investigation – Case Resolved
This status refers to a product which has been found to be initially non-compliant and following communication, the Named Party takes swift and pro-active action to resolve the complaint prior to the completion of the investigation.
3a. Product Compliant Following Investigation - Case Resolved
This status refers to a product which is found to be initially non-compliant and following the actions and undertakings agreed with the Named Party and the VLS Supervisory Board, the product is brought into compliance following the end of the investigation.
3b. Product Not Compliant Following Investigation – Case Not Resolved
This status refers to a product which is found to be non-compliant at the end of the investigation and undertakings and/or actions have not been received from the Named Party to the satisfaction of the VLS Supervisory Board to bring the product into compliance.
In this case the product will be subject to further investigation at the six month stage and/or referral to a third party statutory authority such as Trading Standards in the case of non-cooperation by the Named Party.
4a. Product Compliant Following Six Month Review – Case Concluded
All previously investigated VLS cases are reviewed within a six month period following the end of the initial investigation.
This case status refers to a product which is found to be in continued compliance at the six month review due to the actions undertaken by the Named Party.
4b. Product Not Compliant Following Six Month Review – Case Not Resolved
This case status refers to a product which is found to be non-compliant at the six month review and further undertakings have not been received from the Named Party to the satisfaction of VLS Supervisory Board to bring the product into continued compliance.
In this instance the case details will be subject to further ongoing investigation and/or referral to a third party statutory authority such as Trading Standards in the case of continued non-cooperation by the Named Party.
5. Archived
This status refers to a previously investigated case which has been reviewed at the six month stage and the complaint concluded. These cases remain live on the website for a limited period and are then archived.
